====== State of the Art, Project Management and Documentation ======
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend the first session of the Fabricademy, because I hadn’t fully decided whether or not I was going to take the course. This was mainly due to the fact that I’m still a student, and I’m currently coursing my final semester, so I’m working on my thesis. However, a good friend of mine managed to convince me and I contacted FabLab ESAN that same afternoon, to see if I still could sign up for the course. Yes, I could. My participation was confirmed Friday morning.

So, on Saturday I watched the first class, “State of the Art” on the wiki page, an I caught up with the rest of the students.

During the lecture, I met most of the faculty and I caught a glimpse of some of my classmates. Moreover, I learned about the course outline and the resources I’ll be using. The assignment for this class was to create a personal page in the wiki so that in the future I can upload my documentation.

Given how I signed up late, I didn’t have a wiki page, so I started documenting in my computer. But I uploaded everything the moment I got access to the wiki.

The assignment also required the students to plan and sketch some ideas for a final project. So, if you want to check my ideas, click here (link).

When updating to the wiki, I had some difficulties with formatting since I had never edited a wiki page before. Thankfully, there’s a syntax page where I could check all of the different formats that are necessary when creating a page. The first step for completing my assignment was editing the wiki. In order to do so I followed these simple steps:

  * Logging in with my username and password

  * Start editing


Because I don’t have any experience with HTML, I was grateful when we were informed the this year’s documentation was to be done in a wiki. Personally, I find it incredibly easy to edit and upload my documentation using both the CKG and the DW edit options.\\

Working with these editors is pretty much the same as working with a normal text editor like MS word or pages. So, I truly recommend sketching your wiki page on a word or pages document, and then copying and pasting it to the wiki directly. This way you’ll have a backup of your work in case anything happens.\\
