STEP 1

Not being a designer, my Fabricademy final project will be a toolguide, a series of educational resources for teachers and students of primary and secondary schools to combine national curricula with maker and textile activities. I therefore tried to adapt the guidelines about creating a Ultra-Personalized Product Service System (UPPSS) to explore how personalization can happen for this kind of project. I used the [[https://digitalsocial.eu/uploads/digital-social-toolkit.pdf|Digital Social Toolkit]] and the [[https://strategyzer.com/canvas/business-model-canvas|Business Model Canvas]] as tools to help me in this reflection. Many associations, NGOs and social enterprises are active in the Geneva area and play an important role to foster community engagement and offer services to disadvantaged communities. However, for a number of reasons, synergies between different actors are not fully exploited, especially in relation to digital manufacturing programmes, whose social impact is not yet fully understood or even denied. The creation of a Fab Lab in a traditional artisanal area of Geneva is even seen as a threat to local activities rather than an opportunity to combine tradition and innovation. I would therefore like to develop a project that: 1) involves 3 entities addressing different communities and needs 2) combine traditional knowledge with digital innovation 3) can be developed in primary or secondary schools. Regarding the format and the content, the project will: 1) combine two or more techniques learned during the Fabricademy to produce an original object 2) be modular to allow schools to choose one or more modules 3) develop tools and resources for the teachers and their students. Ideally the toolkit should be associated to training vis-à-vis sessions.

**CRITERIA** (from the Digital Social Kit) * Level of openness: an open, collaborative and openly documented governance that manages the processes, participation and budget of the project * Community of engagement: we give our professional time to mentor and encourage people to start their own project, not necessarily related to our initiative * Background knowledge: we collaborate with other projects * Target and stakeholders mapping: to be done * Quality of documentation: the project is fully documented online and shared via events * Quality of product: we want to give equal important to the process and the product, that should be functional, needed, used and improved by the community

STEP 4

**TOOLS** To achieve the goals of the project based on the criteria listed above, I selected the three most useful tools for this project (from the Digital Social Toolkit) * Network mapping * Integration personalization * Open source innovation * Project documentation
