My Week 0 | State of the Art, Projectmanagement and Documentation

Today, I received an important email that provided information on the technical applications we are going to use during the project via the mailing list fabricademy2017@lists.fabcloud.io. I saved the email adress of the coordination team info@textile-academy.org. AfterwardsI had a first look at the applications we are going to use during the project.

In the afternoon I followed the first lecture 'State of the Art, Project Management and Documentation' via Blue Jeans since I am in Greece at the moment. I was excited to see many participantes from all over the world and I am looking forward to get to know them and learn more about their work during the project.

In this lecture I got an overview on the strucutre of the project and the up coming lectures. In addition, the reasons why this project takes place and general background information on the project and the textile industry were disscussed. The first assignment of the project is to edit one's student page and to present one's self on October 3rd, 2017. The student page has to provide general and personal information on the student, expectaions and motivations and first ideas about what she wants to achieve in this project. After the lecture I had the possibility to join a local meeting of the students in Kamp-Lintfort with Adriana via Blue Jeans. The local organization was discussed. The team will join the lectures on Tuesdays, get tutorials by Adriana on Wednesdays and has the possibility to work on all assignments in the FabLab on Thursdays. All assignments have to be completed and handed to Adriana by no later than the end of Mondays.

I started to edit my students page. I added the header and 'About me'. I was not able to figure out how to create links, but I will fix that later on.

Thursday | September 28th, 2017

I added 'Week 0 | State of the Art, Project Management and Documentation' to my page. I have to get back to my noted to finalise the documentation of Tuesday.

Friday | September 29th, 2017

I added 'Motivation, expectations and first ideas' to my page.

I joined the local meeting in Kamp-Lintfort via Skype, since I am still in Greece. -Thank you to Sophie for connecting with her laptop, great team work!

As far as I could follow the meeting (unforutnally we had some technical issues), Adriana introduced us to previous projects and three guests representing a company for medical devices, like ortheses, protheses and wheelchairs, and the accessathon. It was intreseting to see what modern technology can achieve already concerning the support of disabled people. Further, we talked about organizational aspects and the first assignment given on Tuesday.
